Estate Planning

Estate planning is about planning for your future and the future of your family. Proper estate planning can minimize estate taxes while maximizing the assets that you pass on to your beneficiaries. Estate planning documents can also be tailored to take into consideration guardianship issues of minor children and set up trusts for minors (children, grandchildren, etc.).  An estate plan will often include a living will, a last will and testament and a power of attorney in the eventuality that you are incapacitated and need someone to make decisions for you.

Estate Administration (No Probate)

There are some situations in which probate is not necessary and assets can be transferred from the name of the decedent into the name of the beneficiary in a rather simple fashion -- for example, in the case of a small estate affidavit.  In other situations, probate will not be necessary because all of the decedent's assets are held within a revocable living trust or family trust.

Our firm handles matters that deal with the distribution of an individual's property upon his or her death, taking into account the Last Will and Testament, taxes, insurance, real property and trusts.  We have extensive knowledge of the probate process as well as non-probate transfers of the deceased's assets.

Business Law/Corporate Litigation

Are you starting your own business?  We can help start you off on the right track and help advise you of the proper business structure for your needs.  We will also make sure that you are aware of any city/state licensing requirements, as well as discuss more general startup matters and personnel issues.

Our firm has been involved in complicated majority/minority shareholder disputes and can represent you on these types of matters as well.

Small Business Consulting

We can help you develop an initial Business Plan, along with a start-up timeline and a budget.  We offer also a number of consulting services to existing business owners to help minimize unnecessary expenses and to create efficient business processes.  To help you budget for legal expenses, we offer a small business retainer program on a month-to-month basis.

Personal Injury

If you have been injured in an accident, we can help.  Your injury could range from minor to severe, depending on the circumstances of the accident.  Some of the most common injuries that we represent include joint, bone and muscle damage, connective tissue damage, whiplash, paralysis, and spinal cord injuries.

Real Estate/Landlord-Tenant Disputes/Eviction

We can help you with many of your real estate needs, such as a boundary line or easement dispute.  We also offer to help you with landlord-tenant disputes and eviction proceedings.
